[Film] Silent Movies...Sorta

* stage name: Enchong Dee
* real name:
Ernest Lorenzo
* nickname: Chong
* birthdate:
November 5, 1989* height: 5'9"
* ethnicity:
Chinese-Filipino
* profession:
actor, model, and world-class swimmer

Be still, my heart. I first saw him on ASAP XV, a Philippine musical and dance variety show, where he was dancing with the rest of the Gigger Boys. He, along with Robi Domingo, stood out from the rest.

I did a little research and found out Chong was starring in a Cinema One Originals "unpredictable light romantic comedy about two strangers who can hear the call of love by using their hearts" called Paano Ko Sasabihin.  He and co-star Erich Gonzales play the role of deaf-mute lovers.

More after the jump.

"The extraordinary chemistry of the EnRich love team is well received by critics and viewers alike. Apart from successfully proving their strength as a team-up on two of ABS-CBNs top-rating soaps Katorse and Tanging Yaman, Erich and Enchong have further impressed the public with their performance on Paano Ko Sasabihin. Enchong is nominated as New Movie Actor of the Year at the 26th PMPC Star Awards for Movies 2010.

"Combined with an unpretentious unique plotline and well chosen interesting locations like that of the metro train or LRT, the unique charm of Erich and Enchong was significant in making the film a big winner in the latest Cinema One Originals Digital Movie Festival. It bagged the Best Editing, Special Mention Award, and the Audience Choice Award for Best Digital Movie."

Check out the trailer:

The movie was written and directed by world-renown filmmaker Richard Legaspi, a graduate of the Asian Film Academy in Busan.  Just by watching the trailer, I could've told you he studied in Korea.  Paano Ko Sasabihin has a very Korean-like taste which I can't resist. I wanna watch it ::pouts::

My hunger was somewhat sated after I watched Hear Me (听说)(2009), starring Ivy Chen(陈意涵) and Eddie Peng (彭于晏). Guess what?  They play deaf-mute lovers, too, but this time centered around Deaflympics-sized swimming pools. I love this movie. Eddie is adorable. His on-screen parents, Luo Bei-an (罗北安) and Mei Shiu Lin(林美秀), are really funny (they are also funny in Fated to Love You). Ivy plays a strong hard-working girl and her relationship with the sister, played by Michelle Chen (陈妍希), brings out the tears in me. Makes me want a sister of my own ;_;

Don't miss this!
