[Live][Super Junior] Yesung's Voice

Everyone knows the singers of SuJu are the ever adorable Ryeowook, witty yet fail-y Kyuhyun, and the hilariously strange Yesung. I'm so glad Yesung was able to shine solo this time on Music Bank. Seriously, the guy's normal speaking voice is as melting as this:

[Live][SS501] Comeback!

Here they are rockin' a dark sexy look on their Music Bank comeback. Holy cow, look at that stage for "Love Ya"! The string orchestra is back, but I really don't like how the backup dancers are in the forefront.

With a completely different white suit look, this is their performance of the lovely "Let Me Be the One."

I'm really falling in love with Youngsaeng's voice. Gahh, singers *ㅅ*

[Drama] Our Slightly Risque Relationship

조금 야한 우리 연애 stars "The Voice" Lee Seongyun (Pasta, 1st Shop of Coffee Prince) as a prickly broadcast PD. He enters a love-hate relationship with Hwang Wooseulhye (why does she have such a long name?) who plays a new reporter at his company.

It looks really cute and witty by the description of Lady Javabeans. Read here. Regardless of a good script and director, since it has 이선균, I was gonna watch it anyway. He's such a great actor...and very handsome ㄲㄲㄲㄲㄲ

I hope someone subs it. KBS airs this installment of Drama Special this weekend!

[News] Becoming Internationally Recognized?

Three members of TVXQ (Xiah Junsu, YoungWoong Jaejoong and Micky Yoochun) will join hands with an American musician to produce a worldwide album.

It has been found that the three members will create this album with influential people of pop culture such as famous U.S. producer Timbaland and Korean composer Kim Hyung Suk.

A representative who is participating in the album production said, "A famous American music distribution company will be participating in this record project," and "It is a worldwide album but the main target will be Asia. There is a high possibility that the three members will fly to the United States sometime this month to record."

The three members' side stated, "Although it is true that they are preparing an album with Kim Hyung Suk, we will not reveal any specific plans for the moment."

What do they mean by "worldwide"? Hmm, proceed with caution. Asian Americans in entertainment have it extremely rough over here, so an international star would still have it worse. Any int'l star needs years of preparation for the US market. Se7en, BoA, Rain (Bi), Wonder Girls...they haven't made much of a splash. This is the reason why a number of int'l Cassiopeia don't want them to come to America. Other reasons would be the group is short two members, and international activities means a longer absence from the Japanese and Korean world.

Regarding reason #1: I agree completely. I want to believe the Dong Bang boys are different from the others and can actually make it. But for a US debut, they need to speak English fluently with very little accents. Se7en and BoA had been studying English for years in America. Their debut was still rough.

In comparison, even though it took Japan 5 years to embrace Tohoshinki, they were still embraced despite the language barrier. Why? Japan is a nearby Asian country with a wide acceptance of male pop groups. How many successful male groups are in America now? The Jonas Brothers recently split, so zero? And the target audience was merely the tweenagers. JoBros aren't really respectable artists because America classifies them as a boy band, simply an adolescent phenomenon. DBSK is way more than that. To simultaneously break the race factor and genre classifications will be ridiculously difficult, if not impossible.

But miracles do happen. DBSK is a miracle. So many dedicated fans, with so much hope...what can't we do?

Regarding reason #2: Junsu, Yoochun, and Jaejoong can't be expected to sit back and wait for Changmin and Yunho. That's exactly what SMEntertainment wants. SME doesn't want JYJ to have any success; SME wants to be necessary for JYJ. But the truth is, SME isn't...not when individual members and DBSK as a whole can certainly hold their own.

Real fans should understand that DBSK can't always perform together, even if the members mean more to each other than brothers. What's best for one or three, may not be best for another. I'm sad about the hiatus/split, too, especially since DBSK's popularity seemed to be skyrocketing into the stratosphere. GG.

Regarding reason #3: That's a selfish reason, but understandably so. An international stage is the only next logical step for the members to take. You can't deny them that. I just hope they don't get even more overworked. Please eat, sleep, and have fun! Since JYJ is planning their own things, I suppose they are having a lot of fun :D

Perhaps, by worldwide, they are referring to the style of music...a more mainstream style, as opposed to K- and J-pop. It'll be different for current fans, but the artist must grow. Ganbaremasu!
